About Me

This is us

Hi, my name is Marti-Mari. Welcome to my blog!

This is my family - my husband Waldo and our girls Isabella (right) and Mikayla (left). We also have two border collies that we consider to be apart of our family too.

I am self employed, in architecture and design - mostly. I have also (in the past and present) embarked on several other business ventures, some more successful than others. I have recently completed a diploma in Natural Skincare formulation, which I am very passionate about and hoping to eventually turn into a business too. A business coach I had a session with once called me a "serial entrepreneur".  I guess I am still "still figuring it out"... But even though I still don't have it all worked out, with the benefit of age I have probably gained some confidence and little more assertiveness.

I still enjoy cooking and good food, reading and great books, travel and new places (although that one is certainly on the shelf for now). Through my last blog, which started out as a personal online spiritual journal, I have learned that I really love writing too.

In the past my blog has been both a creative outlet, as well as a place to write about faith, life and how I perceive the world around me. I have found that if I am committed to writing "my journal" I make more of an effort to be connected. And stay that way. I spend more time in the Word and seeking God's presence. I actively look for Him in my surroundings and listen to hear His voice. To what he wants to show me. To the knowledge He wants to reveal. It makes me a better person. One I like more than that woman who feels lost and alone, like so many out there. And if this is just to keep me accountable then (to me), it's more than worthwhile.

But in the past I have also seen that sometimes writing can be so powerful. Words matter. It can be uplifting, inspiring, encouraging. It can reach someone that may feel alone. It can help someone in the same circumstances. It can influence someone that might be at a crossroads. It can definitely mean something to someone.

So, my hope remains that, in some small way, my writing can make a difference.
